Cyberstingers Robotics Teams Support Local FIRST LEGO League Event
Our Cyberstingers robotics teams—Cyberstingers Gold 6988, Cyberstingers Blue 5979, and Cyberstingers Green 8433—took their passion for STEM beyond competition by volunteering at the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) event held on December 14, 2024, at Southern Regional Technical College.
Team members stepped up as referees, assisted at event tables, and guided participants, ensuring the tournament ran smoothly. Their coach, Brian Bellamy, also contributed his expertise by serving as a judge during FLL team interviews, providing thoughtful evaluations and constructive feedback to the young innovators.
The Cyberstingers received heartfelt gratitude from the event organizers for their efforts. In an email from Southern Regional Technical College, the teams were thanked for their commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the next generation of STEM leaders. The feedback emphasized how their contributions created a positive and enriching experience for all participants.
We’re also thrilled to share that five FLL teams from our region who participated in this tournament will be advancing to the Super Regionals! It’s exciting to see so many young minds energized about STEM and innovation, and we’re proud to have played a part in their journey. We look forward to some of these students becoming Cyberstingers in the future.
Volunteering at events like this is a meaningful way for the Cyberstingers to give back to the community while inspiring future engineers and innovators. Congratulations to all the teams who competed, and best of luck to those advancing to the Super Regionals!
